NESF meeting 2024

  • by

I missed this one, but it wasn’t all that substantive. NASA held its NESF (NASA Exploration Science Forum) in St. Louis, last week (Jul 23-25). In the NASA context, ‘exploration’ intimates human exploration. It doesn’t intimate e. g., sample return, but not everyone follows that usage (hence, “Exploration Science”- planting flags and bootprints isn’t by itself actual science). Anyway, some science content:

Wed, Jul 24

Nano-IR Analysis of Returned Sample from Asteroid Ryugu and Model for Remote Sensing Comparison Koren, Olivia

Thu, Jul 25  Session: Asteroids/Solar System Dynamics

Ejecta Mass  Estimates From The DART Impact Plume: Lower Limits Inferred From Liciacube Images Lolachi, Ramin

Cratering and Ejecta Dynamics on Small Asteroids Using Reduced Gravity Aircraft
