It’s a new month, time for a new Cometary Science Newsletter. This month’s edition mentions the (first) Korean Planetary Conference, this July 22-25 organized by IBS in Daejeon. Hurry, the (free!) registration deadline is soon (submission deadline already passed). July was chosen to coincide with the 2024 COSPAR conference, also happening in Korea. Since COSPAR is pretty big (it includes new/commercial space), a separate conference will help maintain focus and make networking/mingling more productive. Daejeon was chosen, both because it’s convenient to IBS (basically, the Korean NSF)/KAIST, and because it’s- ehh, reasonably- convenient to two big airports.
Even aside from COSPAR (once again, big, sprawling, and spread thin), this new conference will include domestic and international talks and updates. J. B. Vincent will give an invited presentation on ESA’s Didymos/Apophis work.
