The imminent Vera Rubin Observatory will have pixels upon pixels upon pixels, just as Comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko had (per Rosetta) gas atom upon gas molecule upon dust grain upon dust conglomerate upon cometesimal upon boulder. It’s a rich resource for anyone willing to mine the data. Anyone longing for ‘the good ol’ days’ of vidicon tubes, S-band comm, and magnetic tape archiving doesn’t know how good we now have it.
