Cover of Science. You know the Vera Rubin Observatory is a big deal when it makes the cover of Science magazine. In vol. 388, issue 6753 (19 June 2025):

Just in time for Monday’s occasion (no coincidence, I’m sure), Science publishes a big, in-depth piece, with big, glossy photos and infographics. As expected, dark matter and dark energy dominate the narrative (as expected for a DoE-funded project), but there’s small-body material too. As I’ve mentioned, recent run-throughs show that the telescope will catch asteroids and similar moving objects as anticipated in the project goals. Nothing dramatic here if you’ve been following my posts, but if not, it will get you up to speed on Vera Rubin.
