There’s plenty of room in the micro- and nano-world. Like Moore’s Law, science and science equipment has advanced to finer and finer resolutions. The amount of wisdom we can extract from even dust particles is something the average bystander is completely unaware of. These tiny samples include interplanetary dust (plus dust captured from interstellar space), the similar but distinct micrometeorites, molecular and atomic ‘residues’ taken by capture cells (basically, exposure experiments), and of course the fine inclusions found in macro-meteorites. This workshop will go into depth on the modern science of these samples.
