The launch of the Odin asteroid mission, from AstroForge, was successful. Unfortunately, that’s about the only thing we can say for sure just yet. Separation occurred, and the probe appears to be powered and transmitting, but no useful radio link has been established. As far as we can tell, the payload carrier released Odin with a slight bias. This is not unusual, and appears to have been within specifications. However, the spacecraft for some reason has not steadied itself, despite being ‘alive.’ The slight tumble prevents the main antenna from pointing at Earth, and allowing full comms.
