Space Science Reviews has THE paper on the Comet Interceptor mission (for now). This is a whopper, with introduction sections as big as some “normal” papers. I lost count of the figures, which includes glamour shots of incoming hardware. Previously, Snodgrass and Jones 2019 (10.1038/s41467-019-13470-1) briefed us on the mission concept. It’s been a busy few years; CI is no longer a concept, but- as ESA’s first F-mission– it is fast becoming an actual deep space probe for launch in another few years.
Jones, G. H. Snodgrass, C. Tubiana, C. and over 200 others, January 2024 The Comet Interceptor Mission. Space Science Reviews, vol. 220, issue 1, p. 9, 10.1007/s11214-023-01035-0
Assuming you have, oh, an hour or two open, don’t miss this one. The introductory sections alone are basically a review of comet science in the modern (in situ) era. The mission execution is now known- at least, the hardware and ops- enough to test your attention span. A bit appropriate for a mission that will lurk at L2, eh?
